The rankings are for the January 2025 drama brandreputation rankings and are based on findings from the Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute.
The number one overall drama is Season 2 of “Squid Game”, followed by “The Tale of Lady Ok” in second place and Season 2 of “The Fiery Priest” in third. Other dramas in the top list included “Light Shop”, “When the Phone Rings”, “Iron Family”, “Moving”, “Cinderella Game”, “Family Matters”, “Who Is She!”, “Love Your Enemy”, “My Merry Marriage”, “Parole Examiner Lee”, “Desperate Mrs. Seonju”, “Check-in Hanyang”,and “Brewing Love”.
The brand reputation indexes are generated by extracting big data data about a brand and studying it to see how consumers act. The data is divided into participation value, communication value, media value, and social value, with each component is weighted to create the index.
In drama brand reputation even more factors come into play, like community value and viewership value. The results are then calculated using an analysis algorithm of content value.
Squid Game' Season 2’s Success The Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute’s director Koo Chang-hwan observed that “‘Squid Game’ Season 2 topped the January 2025 drama brand reputation rankings, with keywords such as ‘success, expansion, rise’ standing out. In the keyword analysis, we saw ‘Lee Jung-jae’, ‘marbles’, ‘Netflix’, ’and in a positive-to-negative sentiment ratio analysis, it showed a high positive ratio of 92.50%.” He added that positive sentiment toward ‘Squid Game’ Season 2 is high and that the drama is strongly associated with searches for ‘Lee Jung-jae’, ‘marbles’, and ‘Netflix’.
