Hwang Dong-hyuk revealed that the decision to end Squid Game Season 2 after seven episodes rather than nine, as seen in its first season. This was a recent development.

He mentioned that he worked on the story for Seasons 2 and 3, as well as starting production on them at the same time. Season 3 is currently in post-production.

He remarked that the conclusion of Episode 7 signified a pivotal moment in the narrative. He stated that this was the appropriate moment to put the story on hold.

Squid Game Season 3, set to debut in the summer or fall of 2025, is a must-see for fans.
